Featured Researcher

Anibal R. Diogenes, DDS, MS, PhD, is Chair of the Department of Endodontics at the UT Health San Antonio School of Dentistry and an internationally recognized researcher in regenerative endodontics. His work focuses on the biology of dental pulp inflammation, pain, and repair, with the goal of developing biologically based therapies that preserve natural teeth.

Dr. Diogenes’ research integrates stem cell biology, biomaterials, and translational clinical studies to regenerate living tissue within damaged teeth. His group has contributed to pioneering clinical approaches using stem cells and bioactive scaffolds to restore pulp vitality and promote continued root development.

Through interdisciplinary collaborations, his work advances new regenerative strategies for treating dental disease and improving patient outcomes. His research and clinical leadership continue to shape the future of endodontic therapy and biologically based dental care.
