Ph.D. in Nursing Science

The Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Nursing Science program is a research-based doctoral degree. The program prepares the student for a career as a clinical nurse scientist who, through course selection and experiences, develops as a teacher and disseminator of knowledge within professional, academic, and clinical arenas. Students may enter the program at the Post-BSN or Post-MSN level.

Requirements

  • BSN, MSN and DNP students from a nationally accredited school of nursing (ACEN, NLNAC, CCNE)
  • Licensure as a Registered Nurse in Texas or Compact License with Multi-State Privileges International applicants should contact the PhD program director to determine licensure requirements.
  • No GRE is required
  • 3.0 GPA based on last 60 hours of college coursework

We will be having a four-part Nursing Science Information session that we invite you to join. We will offer Information Sessions virtually, 6 pm-7 pm on the designated date. In each session, attendees will have an opportunity to meet with faculty, Ph.D. students, and graduates.
